Union Township is Open For Business

Looking to open a new business? Relocation? Expansion?  Mt Pleasant offers a wide range of opportunities and a diverse customer base.  Union Township strives to operate with consistent, predictable outcomes for the business community.  Union Township is a client of Middle Michigan Development Corporation.  MMDC is available to assist you in a new start-up or an established market.  The Mt Pleasant Chamber of Commerce is an effective resource for any business located in the Greater Mt Pleasant Area.  The area's vitality can also be traced in part to the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau's (MPACVB) success in attracting people to come and enjoy Mt Pleasant.

Union Township has two Downtown Development Authority Districts, which are managed by one Economic Development Authority Board.  The DDAs invest in the Districts to create attractive commercial areas.  EDA meetings are open to all, and are especially helpful for business owners in the respective districts.

Mt Pleasant is home to Central Michigan University and Mid Michigan College Mt Pleasant Campus.  These institutions have services available to business.  Michigan Technical Education Center (M-Tec) operates through MMC and is a real benefit to the Middle Michigan Region business community. The focus of training in the M-TEC center is the industrial and construction trades. Industrial training components include pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, electrical controls, and plumbing and pipe fitting. In the construction trades, training is provided in carpentry, electrical, masonry, and plumbing. Industrial delivery is skill-based, open-entry / open exit, individualized, and self-paced. A key to the instructional delivery in the M-TEC is providing learners with a variety of instructional delivery systems. Units of instruction are developed that cover the skills specifically identified by business and industry as critical.

Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center Region 4 Office is affiliated with MMCC and provides services and support to the Michigan small business community in the areas of counseling, training and research.
