Summer Hours Thursday Off

June 1 through August 30 the township staff will work four 10 hour days with either Monday, Thursday, or Friday off. This Department Head will be off on Thursdays.   (See Schedule)

Sign Regulation RFQ

Request for Qualifications, Planning Consultant for Sign Regulations (click for RFQ)

Development of a comprehensive zoning text amendment and companion police powers ordinance for the Charter Township of Union.  The following goals have been identified, but are not exhaustive;  

 • Work with a subcommittee composed of citizens, staff, Planning Commissioners and Elected officials

 • Define and categorize Electronic Message Center (EMC) signs 

• Regulate new EMCs for Time Place and Manner • Review existing sign regulations for defects, enforcement and meeting legitimate governmental interests 

• Assess community and business expectations for signs in general and specifically for EMCs 

• Develop a companion police powers ordinance to regulate existing EMCs as well as other illuminated signs
